Kathy and the entire crew at Kathy Loper Events extends our apology to the 5K runners for the errors made in this past weekend's Super Run that resulted in your 3.1 mile race being "Super Sized" into a 4 mile run. This error is absolutely inexcusable and we take full responsibility for that mistake.
As many of you are well aware, Kathy Loper Events has been serving the running/racing community for over two decades and we take great pride in our reputation for delivering an outstanding race experience. Certainly the high expectations that you have become entitled to were not met on the 5K run and every possible measure has been taken to insure that this never happens again.
While many of you have taken the time to write and call to let us know that you understand and appreciate our efforts we have also heard from a number of participants that feel very strongly that some form of "compensation" is appropriate. To any of those runners that are of similar opinion we offer the following options:
A $5.00 (one time) credit toward any future Kathy Loper Events race A $5.00 refund to be mailed directly to you A $5.00 donation made in your name to Water for Children Africa Compassion For African Villages or Morse High School Athletics.
