Early breakfast at the hotel.
0545 Transfer to the airport.
0745 Leave Beijing on CHINA EASTERN AIRLINES MU/2106, Airbus A320, snack served, non-stop.

Optional full-day trip to Huashan Mount

0950 Upon arrival at Xian airport, met by guide and separate coach going to Huashan Mount. It is suggested that you send your large luggage with the group going to the hotel, and only take a light backpack. You will challenge yourself to conquer one of the most beautiful and steep mountains in China.
1230 After 2 hours' drive, arrive at Huashan Mount. Your guide will provide you with prepared snack food boxes and drinks to bring to the foot of the mountain.
1300 Take the 10 minute cable car ride to the foot of Northern peak.
1315 Get ready to walk through Canglongling and Jinsuoguan with 1.5 km long and 1 meter wide concrete steps and handrail or chains on both side, leading to the foot of Middle peak . After the first pass of this typical road, you are free to hike the Middle Peak or go even further to the Western peak, if time allows.
1615 Proceed down the mountain by cable car to the main entrance to board your car/bus and transfer to Xian city.
1830 Arrive and check into your Hyatt Hotel around 18:00. Take a short rest before joining the dinner-show.
1915 Transfer to Tang Dynasty Theatre with good front seats and dinner with a glass of wine to celebrate your success in hiking the Huashan Mount.
2030 Enjoy the fantastic Tang Dynasty Show at this luxury theatre.
2200 End of the show. Return back to your hotel.

0950 Arrive Xian, the east end of the legendary Silk Road.
Meet&Greet and transfer to the city for a brief orientation tour including a 30 minute walk on the famous City Wall, visit Great Mosque.

1845 Leave hotel for transfer to the new Shaanxi Grand Opera House. Tang Dynasty Dinner Show followed by a Chinese Dinner if there are two scenes on the day or Dinner first then the Show, a great evening of wonderful local entertainment and fine Chinese Dinner.
2200 Return back to hotel.

Tue 11May In Xian

0730 Morning visit to the Terra Cotta Warriors Digs one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in the world and a highlight of any China itinerary. Just discovered in 1974, these clay figures resemble actual army soldiers of the Qin dynasty which were buried over two thousand years ago.

An awesome site, and they are still excavating burial pits that are expected to eventually unveil a total of 6,000 terra-cotta clay figures. Recent excavations also revealed a formation of infantry, cavalry and soldiers on chariots. Early lunch at a local restaurant inside the Digs compound.

Afternoon brief stop at a jade factory to see how fine jade jewelry is made before returning to your hotel. You may wish to be dropped off at the South City Gate to rent a bike, riding on the wall at your own cost and return back to hotel on your own.
1830 Leave hotel for special Dumpling Dinner at Han Tang Tian Xia Restaurant.
Return to your hotel.

Wed 12May Xian-Beijing

Breakfast at the hotel.
0645 Transfer to the airport.
0900 Leave Xian on CHINA EASTERN AIRLINES MU/2109, Airbus A320, snack served, non-stop.
1030 Arrive Beijing.
Transfer back to your Capital Hotel. Rejoin the KLE Beijing groups at the hotel.

Note:

During your 2-night excursion to Xian, you will keep your room at the Capital Hotel in Beijing, therefore you do not have to check out or check in again. Just take a hand-carry with you to Xian, and leave your other baggage in your Beijing hotel room.
